

CBHP-DIOCESE OF IPIL
1. Aim of the project:
1.1 Goal
To improve the health situation of the Christian, Muslim and Indigenous population of the Diocese of Ipil, and their active participation in the society. Towards this end, the community based health programs of the Diocese will be strengthened.
1.2 Objectives
- Development of traditional, sustainable health care methods which prevent and treat common diseases and reduce poverty among the population.
- Strengthening of the identification and rehabilitation of differently able persons and enhance their participation in social life.
- Improvement of awareness on HIV/Aids, strengthening of support groups, and boosting their participation in policy making processes.
- Enhancing the involvement of families of TB patients, health workers and different communities in the education, prevention and treatment of tuberculosis.
2. Measures to be supported
• 1. Alternative Health Care System and Livelihood Development Program
- Institution and Capability Building: Establishment of a clinic with gadgets for acupuncture, reflexology, weight reducing, etc.; training of health workers in the coordination of government health working personnel working in the Barangay health canters, training of basic skills in counselling on family problems
- Networking and Advocacy: Establishment of linkages with the provincial, municipal and Barangay Local Government Units, NGOs , POs and the business sector to support he use of traditional health care methods; lobbying for the formulation
of policies protecting the health the people towards increased budget allocation.
- Information, Education and Communication: Herbal medicine production, backyard gardening, establishment of parish pharmacies.
2. Differently Able Person Community-Based Rehabilitation Assistance Program
- Organizing of persons with disabilities: Skills enhancement trainings, seminars, workshops, exposures, capacity building for CHWs.
- Referral to partner institutions.
- Networking and Advocacy.
- Research and Documentation: Research and related studies on prevention, rehabilitation and equalization of
opportunities for persons with disabilities.
- Information, Education and Communication through campaigns, for a film showing in the schools, communities and through mass media mileage.
3. HIV/Aids Prevention Program in Ipil, Kabasalan, Imelda and Buug.
- Creation and Enhancement of a multi-sectoral committee, seminars and study tours to municipalities with successful initiatives on HIV/Aids prevention and care.
- Networking and Advocacy
- Research and Documentation.
- Information, Education and Communication in the whole area of Prelature of Ipil.
4.TB Prevention and Assistance Program
- Organization and Capacity Building for health workers on TB prevention and treatment. They will assist the government health workers in implementation of the National Tuberculosis Program- Directly Observed Treatment. Capacity building on program management, TB- DOTS providers training, TB educators training, module making, etc.
